Some first-time visitors might find the unconventional setup off-putting, particularly if they're expecting a traditional restaurant atmosphere. The parking situation, while handled with flexibility, may confuse those unfamiliar with the surroundings. A few patrons mentioned longer wait times during peak hours, especially on Sunday for the roast dinner, which can be quite popular. Additionally, bookings are required for certain meals, such as the Sunday roast, which some may overlook. However, these minor inconveniences are often overshadowed by the overall experience.
Whilst initially we weren’t sure we were in the right place (due to the unconventional set up) we were soon welcomed and took a spot outside to enjoy our breakfast in the sunshine. Rob owns the whole forecourt and was very friendly and relaxed about parking. Breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked and reasonably priced - just what we needed to start our day. The table next to us had some lovely looking omelettes and recommended we come back for a roast dinner - which we most definitely will be. Thank you 😋
First time I came was so my mum could have breakfast after I (foolishly) had chosen a healthy option somewhere else. Fresh homemade bread, the most delicious sausages (mum let me try hers) I’ll be back for my own! Last night I came for dinner, I had Lobster and mum had the pork chop. Wow! The food is amazing here! The hospitality of the staff is on another level too, you are immediately made to feel at home. Prices are great. There’s always a great atmosphere as there’s always regular customers eating and saying how their food was fantastic as always. I’ll become that person, it’s worth the drive from Hythe in Southampton!
As new locals to the area we headed for breakfast with the kids expecting a standard greasy spoon experience - how wrong we were! Homemade hash browns, and bread. High quality bacon and well cooked eggs. Tomato and mushroom were high quality and seasoned - no cut backs on the sides like most places. Service is so friendly we immediately booked in for Sunday roast which was equally brilliant. I hope for our sake it remains a hidden gem, and hope for Rob and Mark that it doesn’t! Seriously good food, made with the secret ingredient : love. 10/10
We went for dinner and it was so delicious, there were 6 of us and we ordered from the special menu and the pizza menu. We took our own beer and wine and Robs provided the wine glasses! Everything was perfect, the portion sizes were very generous, my husband had the seafood and there was so much in his bowl, he said it was delicious! The staff were extremely friendly and very interested to know that everything was ok with food and service. Its was like fine dining in a car park setting and we can not wait to go back. Highly recommended, be sure to book a table. We loved it.
